2) John Cena
You might not like it, but John Cena is a BIG favorite to take the title off Jinder Mahal when he returns from his current hiatus from WWE.

Think about it, Jinder Mahal consistently insults the fans and the United States of America. In comes John Cena who comes to save the day…. As I am writing this, I believe more and more that it will happen.
Jinder has said that he wants to defend his title against John Cena and a win would solidify him as a legitimate Champion.
Jinder Mahal vs John Cena sounds like a dream match for Vince McMahon. This would include Cena overcoming the odds to defeat the ‘evil foreigner’. This would also mean Cena would pass Ric Flair for most title reigns in WWE history.
Certainly seems like it could happen.
1) AJ Styles
AJ Styles tops my list for not only personal preference, but for what I think will happen.
In my head, I see Jinder holding the title for a few months. After a decent run, he is eventually challenged and defeated by AJ Styles.
AJ (in my mind) will go on to hold the belt until Wrestlemania 34. He will be challenged by Shinsuke Nakamura, aka the 2018 Royal Rumble winner. Okay, this might be fantasy booking a bit too much.
I still think AJ is the most likely to defeat Jinder for the title. Fans love AJ and the company knows they can rely on him as WWE Champion. AJ had a spectacular run last year with the title and put on a number of great matches.
There is no reason for him not to become WWE Champion again. With AJ now being a babyface, him taking the title off Jinder has become extremely likely in my mind.
