John Cena Comments On How Long He Will Keep Wrestling

Since John Cena made his WWE debut back in 2002, he has became one of the most polarizing superstars in WWE history. Cena has done it all in the WWE and is still going strong  at the age of 39. He also stars in movies, hosts television shows and will also host the 2016 ESPY awards. To say that Cena is a man of many talents is an understatement. In a new interview with ABC News promoting hosting the ESPY’s, Cena spoke on a wide variety of topics. One of these was how long he will continue to wrestle for.

Cena was asked why he continues to wrestle when he has acting opportunities in front of him:

“It’s taken years and I still can’t jump the hurdle. Everybody’s like ‘OK, when are you getting out of wrestling to do movies?’ And they’re baffled when I’m like, ‘I’m not!’ I want it to be acceptable to do both. Why would I turn off 650 million global viewers? Why would I turn off half a billion social accounts? Why would I turn off the fun?” (Source: ABC News).

Cena on how long he is going to keep wrestling:

“I’m going to do this as long as I physically can. There is a definitive end in sight. But man, I’m gonna milk it for all that it’s worth. And not like, ‘I’m gonna hang on to my spot man.’ … I just want to be involved, I want to be able to contribute because the noise and the appreciation, like that is such wonderful psychology to be able to manipulate” (Source: ABC News).

  1. He’s right. He’s a top superstar because the kids love him. Since Survivor Series 2014 (when i started watching wrestling again) I have bought my son almost every John Cena shirt and anything else Cena related from the WWE shop. Im sure millions of other parents do the same for their kids.

He hasnt been in the Heavyweight championship mix for a long time too.
