John Cena was defeated by Roman Reigns at the No Mercy Pay-Per-View. After the match, Cena had a moment with the crowd in the middle of the ring. It was clear that Cena would be taking another hiatus from the wrestling business to focus on his career in Hollywood.
It is widely known that Cena will be starring in the upcoming Transformers spin-off: ‘Bumblebee’. Cena is also rumored to be a finalist for the DC Extended Universe character: Shazam.
News broke on Monday that Cena has landed another big movie role.
Deadline is reporting that John Cena has signed on to star in an (untitled) buddy cop movie.
The film will also star Kumail Nanjiani, who is best known for his role on the show: Silicon Valley.
The film will be directed by Ruben Fleischer. Fleischer is best known for directing: Zombieland and will next direct the Spiderman spin-off titled: Venom.
Not many details are known at the moment but Cena and Nanjiani will be starring as the cops in the film.
