3) Drew McIntyre
Another person who I could see retiring John Cena is Drew McIntyre.
On RAW last year, WWE seemed to tease a future match between Cena and McIntyre. This came during a promo segment between the two. This definitely had me thinking that I would like to see them face off at some point.
It would be a great rub for McIntyre if he is able to retire Cena. This could help solidify him as the top guy in the company and it would be big for his career moving forward.
Drew is a strong option in my mind. This could also be a Title vs Career match for Drew’s WWE Championship.
2) Adam Cole (Or Another NXT Star)
Adam Cole might sound crazy on first glance but hear me out. John Cena came into WWE and put on a really fun first match against Kurt Angle. Cena made a huge impression and the rest is history. I think that it would be smart for Cena to put over a younger talent in his final WWE match.
Adam Cole would be a pretty solid fit. Cole is known for his incredible matches in NXT but he is still relatively unknown to fans who only watch RAW and Smackdown Live. Having him face Cena in his final match could be big for Cole’s career moving forward. Cena and Cole would also likely put on a fantastic match.
I think it would be fun to see Cena go out by putting over a new talent. It would be a career coming full circle type of moment for him.
