NXT Champions List: Every Winner In WWE History

The NXT Championship was established in 2012 with the creation of the NXT brand. The title represents the top prize for male competitors in WWE’s developmental system. Below is an updated list of all the NXT Champions in WWE History.

1) Seth Rollins

Seth Rollins defeated Jinder Mahal in the finals of the ‘Gold Rush Tournament’ to become the inaugural NXT Champion. This was on the August 29th, 2012 episode of NXT.

Seth held the belt for a total of 134 days.

2) Big E Langston 

Big E defeated Seth Rollins in a no disqualification match to win the Title. This was on the January 9th, 2013 episode of NXT.

Big E held the belt for 154 days.

3) Bo Dallas

Bo Dallas defeated Big E on the June 12th, 2013 episode of NXT.

He held the belt for 261 days.

4) Adrian Neville

Neville defeated Bo Dallas in a ladder match to win the Title. This happened at NXT Arrival, which took place on February 27th, 2014.

Neville held the belt for 287 days.

5) Sami Zayn

Sami defeated Adrian Neville in a ‘Title vs Career’ match to win the belt. This took place NXT TakeOver: R Evolution on December 11th, 2014.

Sami held the belt for 63 days.

6) Kevin Owens

Kevin Owens defeated Sami Zayn via TKO to win the Title. This took place at NXT Takeover: Rival, which happened on February 11th, 2015.

Owens held the Title for 143 days.

7) Finn Balor

Finn Balor defeated Kevin Owens to join the list of NXT Champions. This happened at the Beast In The East special on July 4th, 2015.

Balor held the belt for 293 days.

8) Samoa Joe

Samoa Joe defeated Finn Balor to win the NXT Championship. This took place at a house show in Lowell, Massachusetts on April 21st, 2016. This was the first time that the belt changed hands at a live event.

Joe held onto the Title for 122 days.

9) Shinsuke Nakamura

Shinsuke Nakamura defeated Samoa Joe to win the NXT Championship. This took place at NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn II on August 20th, 2016.

Nakamura held onto the Title for 91 days.

10) Samoa Joe

Samoa Joe defeated Shinsuke Nakamura to win the NXT Championship for the second time. This happened at NXT TakeOver: Toronto on November 19th, 2016. Joe was the first of the NXT Champions to win the Title for a second time.

Joe held the Title for only 14 days.

11) Shinsuke Nakamura

Shinsuke Nakamura defeated Samoa Joe to win the NXT Championship back. This took place at a house show in Osaka, Japan on December 3rd, 2016. Nakamura was the second person to become a two-time NXT Champion. This was also the second time that the NXT Championship changed hands at a live event.

Nakamura held onto the belt for 57 days.

12) Bobby Roode

Bobby Roode defeated Shinsuke Nakamura to win the NXT Title. This happened at NXT TakeOver San Antonio on January 28th, 2017.

Roode held onto the title for 203 days.

13) Drew McIntyre 

McIntyre defeated Bobby Roode to win his first NXT Title. This happened at NXT TakeOver Brooklyn III on August 19th, 2017.

Drew held the belt for 92 days.

14) Andrade Almas

Andrade Almas defeated Drew McIntyre to win his first NXT Title. This happened at NXT TakeOver War Games on November 18th, 2017.

Almas held the Title for 140 days.

15) Aleister Black

Aleister Black defeated Andrade Almas to win his first NXT Title. This happened at NXT TakeOver: New Orleans on April 7th, 2018.

Black held onto the Title for 109 days.

16) Tommaso Ciampa

Tommaso Ciampa defeated Aleister Black to win his first NXT Title. This took place on the July 25th, 2018 episode of NXT.
