The Smackdown Women’s Championship was introduced on the August 23rd 2016 episode of Smackdown Live. The title was created after the 2016 WWE brand split left the Smackdown roster without a Women’s title belt. Below is a list of the Smackdown Womens Champions in WWE history.
***Note: This is different from the RAW Womens Championship. Also different from the Women’s Championship that was retired in 2010.

1) Becky Lynch
- Became the inaugural champion on the September 11th 2016 episode of Smackdown Live.
- She defeated Alexa Bliss, Carmella, Natalya, Nikki Bella and Naomi in a six-pack elimination challenge.
2) Alexa Bliss
- Defeated Becky Lynch at the TLC PPV (December 4th 2016) to become the Smackdown Women’s Champion.
- Tables match.
3) Naomi
- Defeated Alexa Bliss at the Elimination Chamber PPV.
- Was forced to vacate the title due to injury.

- Defeated Becky Lynch on Smackdown (February 21, 2017)
