The WWE Universal Championship was introduced after the 2016 WWE brand split. The draft left RAW without a World Champion, leading to the creation of the Universal Title. On this page, we will continuously update the list of WWE Universal Champions as the title changes hands.

1) Finn Balor
- Balor defeated Seth Rollins at Summerslam 2016 (August 21, 2016) to become the inaugural WWE Universal Champion.
- He was forced to vacate the title the next night after suffering a shoulder injury.
2) Kevin Owens
- Owens defeated Seth Rollins, Big Cass and Roman Reigns on RAW (August 29, 2016) to win the vacant championship.
3) Goldberg
- Defeated Kevin Owens at Fastlane.
4) Brock Lesnar
- Defeated Goldberg at Wrestlemania 33
***Kevin Owens is currently the longest reigning champion in the titles history.
