NXT Takeover Philadelphia Matches, Predictions

NXT Takeover Philadelphia is almost here. There are 5 matches confirmed for the event. Here are our predictions on who will win every match on the card.

Kassius Ohno vs Velveteen Dream

This should be a really good match between two talented guys. No doubt in my mind that Velveteen Dream will win here after losing at the last Takeover to Aleister Black. I expect Dream to pick up a big win.

Winner: Velveteen Dream.

Kyle O’Reilly and Bobby Fish (c) vs. The Authors of Pain – NXT TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP

The Authors of Pain have to be moving up to the main roster soon right? I don’t think that it would make much sense for them to win the titles again and I would be surprised if they aren’t called up in the next few months. For that reason, I think the Undisputed Era will find a way to retain.

Winner: Kyle O’Reilly and Bobby Fish

Ember Moon (c) vs. Shayna Baszler – NXT WOMEN’S CHAMPIONSHIP

This is a tough one. I don’t think that Shayna should lose here. I also don’t think that Ember should lose the title so soon. As a result, I think that this match is going to have a screwy finish, which extends the feud. I expect a count out or something to keep both looking good here.

Winner: Ember retains via count out or disqualification.

Aleister Black vs. Adam Cole – EXTREME RULES MATCH

Excited for this one. For me, it comes down to who I think will be moving up to the NXT Title picture at the next Takeover. You could make an argument for both. I am going to go with Aleister Black winning here since they had him pinned on NXT a few weeks ago and I think they want to keep him looking strong.

Winner: Aleister Black

Andrade “Cien” Almas (c) vs. Johnny Gargano – NXT CHAMPIONSHIP

Johnny Gargano is a special talent who plays the role of underdog very well. I don’t think that it is time for him to win the title just yet. I think that we are going to see a returning Tommaso Ciampa costing Gargano the match. This will set up the highly anticipated match for the next Takeover between Gargano and Ciampa, that doesn’t need the title involved. Almas will retain here and will go on to defend it against Aleister Black at the next Takeover.

Winner: Andrade Almas thanks to Ciampa.
