The name: ‘Great Balls Of Fire’ for a Pay-Per-View has certainly gotten people talking over the past few weeks. Ever since the name was announced there have been plenty of jokes made. There were also plenty of fans that didn’t think it was a real thing.

So why did Vince McMahon actually name one of his Pay-Per-Views: ‘Great Balls Of Fire’. Well, we have your answer.

Kurt Angle was interviewed by the Dallas Observer prior to the event. He was asked the million dollar question. What is the story behind the name ‘Great Balls Of Fire’. It turns out the name was chosen simply because it made Vince McMahon laugh.

Here is what he said:

” That’s a pretty incredible name for a wrestling show, isn’t it? The head honcho Vince McMahon thought that the name was hilarious, and that’s pretty much the entire story. You never know when it comes to Vince, but he’s usually right, so we trust him. Vince loves the name, so I expect it to become an annual event”

Not only does Vince think the name is hilarious, he plans on making it an annual event. Vince McMahon might be the most interesting man on the planet.
