Before appearing at the Rumble, Rey was rumored to be signing with Impact Wrestling. So why didn’t it happen?
Mike Johnson of PWInsider reports that there was a deal in place for Mysterio to debut for Impact. Once Konnan (who reps Mysterio) got involved, something went wrong in the negotiation.
It is unclear what happened but the deal never got finalized and Rey’s Impact debut was canceled.
Johnson says that Mysterio and WWE are in negotiations to work something out and it looks like he won’t be going to Impact anymore. That is of course unless a deal falls through with WWE.

WWE reportedly wants Rey back full-time. Rey only wants to work a part-time schedule. That apparently remains a sticking point in the negotiations.
Rey did have some good things to say in a recent interview about WWE. He indicated that there is a good chance he will be returning to the company.
