Shayna Baszler has been the NXT Women’s Champion for quite some time now. She has dominated as Champ, defeating a large number of the NXT Women’s division.
We have a rumor to pass your way about Baszler’s future.
According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio (subscribe here), Shayna’s run in NXT is winding down.
Meltzer says that “Shayna is geared for the main roster at some point in 2020, if not earlier”.
He also notes that the call-up could take place as early as the 2019 WWE Draft.
Regardless, the rumor is that she is going to get called up pretty soon.
My Take: I would be happy about this. Shayna has done everything possible in NXT and I think that it is time for a change. Shayna vs Becky Lynch and Shayna vs Charlotte Flair are two feuds that would be easy for WWE to write. This also makes the upcoming match between Baszler and Candice LeRae interesting. Could Shayna drop the belt to Candice and get called up afterward? We will have to wait and see.
