Rumor On The Long-Term Future Of The RAW & Smackdown Women’s Championships

WWE fans received a big surprise on this week’s episode of Smackdown Live. Charlotte Flair won the Smackdown Women’s Championship after she defeated Asuka on the episode.

The main event of Wrestlemania now has both Women’s Champions involved. After this happened, many fans have been wondering what the heck is going on and what will be the future of the belts

We have a rumor to pass your way on the long-term future of the Women’s Titles.

According to Dave Meltzer in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter (subscribe here), the long-term plan is not to unify the Women’s Championships.

According to the rumored stipulations for the match, Ronda Rousey or Charlotte Flair could technically walk out as dual-Champions. While saying that, Meltzer says that WWE wants each brand to have a separate champion. So even if someone wins both belts in the match, the long-term plans are not to unify them.

My Take: I hope this is true as I think it would be a mistake to unify the Women’s Titles. WWE has plenty of female talent on either brand that they can make it work.
