Rusev made his return to WWE television recently. Over the past two weeks, he has defeated both Mike Kanellis and EC3 on Monday Night RAW.
Some fans have been wondering why Lana was not brought back to RAW with Rusev. Her last match for the company came at Wrestlemania 35, where she took part in the Women’s battle royal at the event.
In the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter (subscribe here), Dave Meltzer provided a few tidbits about Lana.
According to Meltzer, Lana was not brought back with Rusev on RAW for a reason. WWE officials apparently have other ideas for her character moving forward.
It is unclear what direction they will take her character but there are currently plans to use Lana in future storylines. This seems to hint that it could be away from Rusev but that is just speculation at the moment.
My Take: If it was up to me, I would pair Rusev and Lana back together under their original gimmick. She was great as his manager and they work well together.
