Rumor Roundup: Backstage Heat On Velveteen Dream, WWE’s Plan For Virtual Fans, More

3) WWE Finds More Positive COVID-19 Tests

News broke last week that WWE canceled one of their planned Smackdown tapings. According to Mike Johnson of PWInsider, WWE canceled last week’s taping after more positive COVID-19 tests were found.

Here is what Johnson wrote:

“They were supposed to tape two SmackDown episodes last week, and I’ve been told by 3 different sources that the second SmackDown taping got canceled at the last second because they had more positives.

My Take:

  • If a Superstar disappears from television for the next few episodes, this might be the reason why.

2) Who Is In Charge Of 205 Live

According to Dave Meltzer in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Mick Foley’s son is one of the main people behind 205 Live.

Here is what Meltzer wrote:

The key creative forces for 205 Live are said to be Adam Pearce and Dewey Foley, who is Mick’s son

My Take:

  • This is a pretty cool tidbit. It is good to see Dewey finding success in WWE as a writer.
