1) Backstage Note On Apollo Crews’ New Bodyguard
According to Heel By Nature, WWE recently filed to trademark “Commander Azeez”.
According to Mike Johnson of PWInsider, this is going to be the new name for Dabba Kato. He is the guy who helped Apollo Crews win the Intercontinental Championship at Wrestlemania 37.
Here is what Johnson wrote:
Dabba Kato, who was last seen on the Raw Underground segments last year, is said to be getting a new direction and makeover in advance of a return to WWE TV.
PWInsider.com is told that he will soon be going under the name Commador Azeez (or Azez, we have heard both spellings of the last name over the last day).
The former Babatunde, 32, was seen in WWE Studios’ Netflix film The Main Event and has been with the company since 2016.
My Take:
- I am not sure how I feel about the name Commador Azeez but I will give this pairing a shot. I have always liked Apollo, so I am happy to see him find consistent screentime.
