3) Update On NXT UK
WWE dissolved WWE UK Holdings this week. This led to some speculation that NXT UK might be getting shut down.
Jim Smallman, who is the creative director of NXT UK, shut down those rumors. Here is what he wrote on Instagram:
“I mean as I’m the creative director of NXT UK I can categorically tell you it’s not shutting down. WWE UK Holdings (which I presume you’re referring to) is nothing to do with NXT UK.”
My Take:
- Good to hear that NXT UK is going to be sticking around.
2) Backstage Note On Adam Cole’s Contract Discussions
According to Sean Ross Sapp on Fightful Select (subscribe here), Adam Cole keeping his Twitch stream was something that was “non-negotiable” for him. This was prior to him signing with AEW.
Here is what Sapp wrote:
The WWE source we originally spoke to on the matter called it “non-negotiable” for him, and even said that higher ups weren’t excited to talk to him about it in general, because they didn’t have much leverage on the situation, and that was even before they knew his contract came up in July.
My Take:
- Cole is now in AEW, so he will get to keep his stream. It sounds like from this though that he was strongly considering a return to WWE.
