Rumor Roundup: Backstage Notes On Cody Rhodes-WWE, Vince McMahon At WM 38, More

Here are some of the latest WWE rumors that are floating around.

5) Backstage Note On Big E’s Broken Neck (Part 1)

According to  Wade Keller of PWTorch, Ridge Holland was very apologetic backstage after Big E was injured on Smackdown. Big E broke his neck after a spot with Holland but there doesn’t appear to be any backstage heat on him for what happened.

Here is what Keller said (via WrestlingNews.co):

“Big E is just beloved. As Becky [Lynch] said, one of the best humans in the world. People love Big E who get to know him. And we certainly wish him the best. I asked some wrestlers about what happened and what their take of it was. First of all, I will say I heard that Ridge Holland was very apologetic and very sorry about what happened backstage. He handled himself well. There doesn’t appear to be any heat on him. This was not a reckless move or something that Big E wasn’t ready for or that seemed like in any way Ridge Holland did anything wrong.”

My Take:

  • I feel terrible for Big E. Talk about a roller coaster ride of a year for him. From being the World Champion, to being put back into a tag team, to now being injured.

4) Backstage Note On Big E’s Broken Neck (Part 2)

According to Sean Ross Sapp on Fightful Select (subscribe here), Big E’s injury on Smackdown forced WWE to change their plans for the post-episode dark match.

Here is what Sapp wrote:

Big E was scheduled for the post show dark match with Drew McIntyre and Kofi Kingston vs. Sami Zayn, Happy Corbin and Madcap Moss. The match was changed to Drew McIntyre vs. Austin Theory

My Take:

  • Interesting tidbit for anyone who cares about that stuff (like me).
