Rumor Roundup: How John Cena Views Bray Wyatt, Vince Changes Plans For Ricochet, More

3) Superstars Were Surprised Over The Cancellation Of The Men’s Elimination Chamber Match

The Wells Fargo Center was originally advertising a men’s Elimination Chamber match to determine the Universal Title challenger at Wrestlemania 36. That match was going to be Roman Reigns vs Braun Strowman vs Daniel Bryan vs Shinsuke Nakamura vs Robert Roode vs King Corbin. This match ended up getting scrapped and WWE just announced Roman Reigns vs Goldberg for Wrestlemania 36 instead.

According to journalist Tom Colohue, this change was a surprise to the match participants, who were already told their roles in the match:

First and foremost, it wasn’t just a surprise for the fans, it was also a surprise to some of the wrestlers who were going to be in that match. It was not formally announced but the people who were going to be in that match were aware it was supposed to be happening and were aware of how they were going to be used. So it was a surprise to a lot of the individuals there.

My Take:

  • I am glad they scrapped the match. It was obvious that Roman Reigns was going to win so it would have felt pointless.

2) Wrestlemania 36 Ticket Sales & Attendance

According to Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Wrestlemania 36 is close to being sold out.

He also notes that there are expected to be around 60,000 people in attendance for the event:

There are about 3,000 tickets remaining for WrestleMania as far as at the box office with capacity in the 60,000 range so it should end up as a sellout or come very close. There are tons of secondary market tickets available with a $44 get in price.

My Take:
