1) Interesting Idea Pitched For WWE Programming
According to Sean Ross Sapp on Fightful Select (subscribe here), a “Wrestling World Cup” has been pitched between all WWE brands.
It was also noted that a “points month” has been pitched, which would count wins, signature moves and more for Superstars. Here is what Sapp wrote:
There was also a Wrestling World Cup pitched, which is self explanatory, and would include all brands. Another pitch NBC has made is a “points month” where wins, signature moves and other things rack up “points” for wrestlers.
Andrew Zarian of the Mat Men Podcast also Tweeted the following about the points system:
Here is one concept I heard about.
Some sort of point tournament where the competitors get points based on special moves, wins, and stipulations. The winner of the point-based tournament would get some sort of title shot.
My Take:
- I am not sure how I feel about the points system and getting points for signature moves. I do really like the World Cup idea though and that could be fun.
