Rumor Roundup: Kevin Owens’ Future, What WWE Had Planned For Adam Cole, More

3) WWE 2K News

According to a report from Sports Gamers Online, WWE 2K22 will be bringing back ‘GM Mode’,

Here is what the site wrote:

Sources have told me that GM Mode has long been a desire of the development team in addition to the fanbase. With the game taking a year off in 2020, it allowed the team the perfect opportunity to bring it back into the mix.

“It was a top priority,” one source said. “The fans clearly wanted it, and the team knew that they add the ammo to get it approved and in.”

My Take:

  • This will be awesome. Happy to hear that.

2) Kevin Owens’ Future (Part 1)

According to Sean Ross Sapp on Fightful Select (subscribe here), Kevin Owens’ contract with WWE is set to expire in January of 2022.

Here is what Sapp wrote:

Fightful has been made aware that one WWE contract expires much sooner than originally thought by the public. Kevin Owens did an interview in May of 2018 with TVA Sports where he’d stated that he’d signed a new 5-year contract that would carry him into 2023. However, as it turns out, that deal is actually now up in January 2022, according to WWE sources.

My Take:

  • This would be another major loss for WWE if he jumps to AEW. He is friends with a lot of top guys in the company, so it is definitely a possibility.
