Here are some of the latest WWE rumors that are floating around.
5) What Competitors Were Told Before ‘RAW Underground’
According to Bryan Alvarez on Wrestling Observer Live, Emily Andzulis was told not to use any of her MMA skills during ‘RAW Underground’. This came during her fight against Shayna Baszler.
Alvarez says that WWE officials told Andzulis to just pretend like she doesn’t know what she was doing as Baszler was going to beat her up. For those who don’t know, Andzulis has a background in Jiu-Jitsu and has trained in other MMA disciplines before coming to WWE.
My Take:
- The goal of the segment was to make Shayna Baszler look good and I think it did just that. This should end the debate among fans about if any of these ‘RAW Underground’ fights will be semi-real. It was obvious for most people but this will hopefully stop fans from asking me about it.
4) The Original Plans For Kevin Owens At Summerslam
According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, Kevin Owens would have been feuding with Seth Rollins right now if Rey Mysterio didn’t re-sign with WWE. That would have likely led to Seth vs Kevin at Summerslam.
These plans were scrapped after Mysterio agreed to re-sign with WWE. This is also the reason why Owens doesn’t currently have a match scheduled for Summerslam.
My Take:
- That makes sense as there were rumors Kevin Owens vs Seth Rollins was WWE’s back-up plan for the event. I hope that Owens jumps back on television after Summerslam and they put him in a fun feud.
