Rumor Roundup: Money In The Bank Plans, Identities Of The Zombies At Backlash, More

Here are some of the latest WWE rumors that are floating around.

5) Identities Of The Zombies At Backlash

On Fightful Select (subscribe here), Sean Ross Sapp provided some more details on who the zombies were at Wrestlemania Backlash.

Here is what Sapp wrote:

In case you were wondering who some of the WWE zombies were, we’ve learned some of the identities. Many were WWE Performance Center wrestlers, including Joe Gacy, a former CZW star. Others included Daniel Vidot and Cal Bloom, son of Beverly Brothers’ Wayne Bloom. We’ve heard that Jiro Kuroshio and Asher Hale may have been among them as well.

My Take:

  • I wasn’t the biggest fan of the zombies at Backlash. While saying that, I understand why it happened as WWE likely got paid a ton to promote the movie. The rest of the PPV was awesome, so it definitely didn’t ruin the show by any means.

4) Why Tamina & Natalya Won The Tag Team Belts

According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, WWE put the tag team titles on Natalya and Tamina because of the reaction that they received from fans at Wrestlemania 37.

Here is what Meltzer said:

“Tamina’s push came from the fans started chanting her name at WrestleMania on the two nights when you actually had fans and [WWE] went with it because, you know whatever it was that was one of the stories at WrestleMania. It was like, hey whatever the reason it was cult or irony or whatever it was, the crowd got behind them and the decision was made. Often times we go ‘oh they don’t listen to their fans,’ this time they did.”

My Take:

  • I am happy for Natalya and Tamina to get that moment. The reign of Nia Jax and Shayna Bazler was getting stale anyways.
