Here are some of the latest WWE rumors that are floating around.
5) WWE To Sign Former Superstar?
According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, WWE has discussed bringing in Davey Boy Smith Jr. This would be for their NXT UK brand.
This won’t be able to happen until his contract with MLW expires in December. While saying that, WWE has discussed possibly bringing him back (h/t to Ringside News for the quote below):
“It could happen, but [Davey Boy Smith Jr.] is under contract until December with MLW so there won’t be any moves until then unless MLW releases him, which wouldn’t shock me if they would all things considered considering that both sides have been saying mean things about the other publicly. But yeah, I’ve heard Davey Boy Smith Jr is the big star in the UK brand, so I suppose that’s been talked about as well.”
My Take:
- I have always been a fan of Smith Jr., so I would be all for this. He could be a solid addition to the NXT UK roster.
4) WWE Creative Told To Come Up With Ideas For Tag Team
According to Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful, WWE creative has been told to come up with ideas for The Forgotten Son’s return.
They have been off WWE television for the past few months after a controversial Tweet from Jaxson Ryker drew criticism:
We’re told that internally, there were plans being thrown around to bring the Forgotten Sons back to television soon. We’re not sure what they are or if Jaxson Ryker would be involved, but have been told Edge has provided some advice to them. Creative was told to come up with ideas for the team.
My Take:
- Regardless of what happens with Ryker, I hope that WWE uses Steve Cutler and Wesley Blake. They are two guys who have worked hard and I would hate to see them lose their opportunity. Plus, Smackdown could use a new tag team.
