5) Backstage Rumor On Why Some Stars Where Not Cleared For Clash of Champions
On the Clash of Champions kickoff show, it was revealed that Nikki Cross, Shayna Baszler, and Nia Jax were not medically cleared for the PPV. According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, these absences are due to the recent COVID-19 outbreak in NXT.
Meltzer noted that the three of them likely did not test positive for the virus but have been in contact with someone who did. As a result, WWE kept all three off them off the show as a precautionary measure.
My Take:
- This definitely seems to be the case for Nia Jax as she said “lies” to WWE’s Tweet saying that she is not medically cleared. This would make sense though after the recent outbreak in NXT.
4) How Long WWE Knew About Nikki Cross Missing Clash of Champions
According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, WWE knew since Friday that Nikki Cross would be missing Clash of Champions.
This means that they knew Bayley vs Cross would not be happening but continued to advertise it until the show started.
My Take:
- The main story of the match was the attack from Sasha Banks afterward. As a result, I don’t think that this is a massive deal. I don’t blame anyone for feeling like they were falsely advertised to though.
