Rumor Roundup: Possible Ring Names For New WWE Superstars, Sasha Banks vs Bayley Plans, More

Here are some of the latest WWE rumors that are floating around.

5) The Possible Plans For Sasha Banks vs Bayley

FOX recently aired a commercial which is advertising that Sasha Banks will be returning on next week’s episode of Smackdown. The commercial says that she will be addressing Bayley’s attack from a few weeks ago.

Sasha returning so soon has led to speculation that Sasha vs Bayley will be happening at the upcoming Hell in a Cell PPV. This is because Bayley already has a match at Clash of Champions, against Nikki Cross.

My Take:

  • Sasha vs Bayley inside Hell in a Cell sounds great to me. I am sure that they will tear it up and the cell seems perfect for their feud. I am excited.

4) More Details About The WWE Employees That Were Released

In the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer provided some additional details about the WWE employees that were released this week. This comes after a recent report suggested that over 60 people in the company had lost their jobs.

Here is what Meltzer wrote:

There was a lot of bitterness from those feeling strung along. It was noted to us that people were told they would be brought back, but then the date of being brought back kept moving another month. In time the recognition with the record profits in quarter two, and the big contract hire of new President Nick Khan, led to bitterness because they were told the furloughs were the last thing the company wanted and were forced out of economic necessity. With the continued delays, many had started looking elsewhere, no longer being convinced they were being brought back, but it’s a tough economic market right now. Some of those let go have been brought back in recent weeks. Others were told this past week they officially were not being brought back.

My Take:

  • You definitely hate to see so many people lose their jobs. I don’t blame any of them for feeling bitter either as WWE posted record profits a few weeks ago. I wish them all the best in whatever comes next.
