Here are some of the latest WWE rumors that are floating around.
5) Smackdown Storyline Big With A Key Demographic
According to Dave Meltzer in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the Lacey Evans, Bayley, and Sasha Banks segment from Smackdown last week way really big with the key ratings demographic.
For those wondering, the key demographic in television is 18-49 years old. Here is what Meltzer wrote:
The Lacey Evans squash and beginning of an angle with Bayley and Sasha Banks gained 2.9 percent in viewers and 14.0 percent in 18-49. The Evans/Banks back-and-forth lost 1.4 percent in viewers but gained 5.3 percent in 18-49 and it was the peak in that demo.”
My Take:
- Sasha’s segments have been rising in the key demo for a few weeks now. I wouldn’t be surprised if WWE ends up putting the Smackdown Women’s Title on her. Getting people to turn the TV on to watch your segments is a great quality.
4) AJ Lee Shuts Down WWE Rumors
With CM Punk back on WWE programming, fans are starting to get excited about the potential of AJ Lee coming back as well.
On Twitter, AJ shut down rumors about her appearing on WWE Backstage or ever wrestling again:
My Take:
- This is definitely a bummer as I would love to see AJ face some of the top female stars in WWE today. I can’t blame her though as she seems happy.
