Here are some of the latest WWE rumors that are floating around.
5) Backstage News On NXT Possibly Moving Nights
According to Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful, WWE is receptive to the idea of potentially moving NXT to Tuesday nights (on a permanent basis). This comes after the show has run unopposed on Tuesday for the past few weeks and has generated some strong numbers for the USA Network.
Here is what Sapp wrote:
As of a couple of months ago, USA Network had thrown out the idea of NXT moving to Tuesday nights. The network has a lot of faith and a good relationship in WWE, but those we’ve spoken to have said they aren’t as committed to the “competition” aspect of NXT on Wednesday night considering it costs them viewers. WWE was said to have been receptive to the idea of moving nights.
We haven’t been told anything firm as of now, and wrestlers and officials have not been informed of a change as of yet. Fightful has been told by those close to USA Network that these two weeks were a bit of a test run on Tuesdays out of circumstance since the show had to switch nights for the playoffs anyway.
My Take:
- I would be surprised if Vince McMahon does move NXT to a new night. I feel like he has too much pride to not try to beat AEW in the ratings.
4) Big Name Returning To WWE Soon?
Ronda Rousey was recently spotted training with Ariel Toombs, who is the daughter of Roddy Piper.
Ronda training again has led to speculation that she could be returning to the ring for WWE in the near future.
My Take:
- I would love to see Ronda back for another run. I want to see her vs Asuka, Sasha Banks, Bayley, and more. Fingers crossed that she is training for a WWE return but we will have to wait and see.
