3) Another Female NXT Superstar Being Considered For A Main Roster Call-Up?
According to Sean Ross Sapp on Fightful Select (subscribe here), Xia Li was scheduled to work a dark match at this week’s episode of Smackdown.
Here is what Sapp wrote:
We’ve seen Shotzi, Tegan Nox, Scarlett, Karrion Kross, Bronson Reed, Toni Storm and numerous others working dark matches before Raw and Smackdown of late, and we’ve heard the plan for that is to continue with fans in the venue. As of Tuesday, NXT star Xia Li was planned for a Smackdown dark match. We haven’t heard of any particular plans of her being called up as of yet.
My Take:
- This definitely has me thinking that WWE is at least considering Xia for a main roster call-up. She has been in NXT for a while now, so it will be interesting to see if she gets drafted.
2) New WWE Documentary Plans
During his Pro Wrestling 4 Life podcast, X-Pac revealed that WWE is putting together a documentary on the Smackdown episode that aired after September 11th, 2001.
Here is what X-Pac said:
“I sat down for some talking head stuff. They’re doing a documentary on the SmackDown after 9/11. I have vivid memories of all that. We were the first ones to do anything after that happened.”
My Take:
- With it being the 20 year anniversary, this makes sense.
