Here are some of the latest WWE rumors that are floating around.
5) Why Sami Zayn Hasn’t Been Wrestling
There has been some speculation as of late that Sami Zayn is injured and that is why he hasn’t been wrestling on Smackdown or at WWE live events.
According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, Sami Zayn is not injured. The reason why he hasn’t been wrestling as of late is due to a creative decision from WWE.
WWE simply likes him more as a manager right now and it has nothing to do with any injury issue or concern.
My Take:
- Sami Zayn is too talented not to use as an in-ring competitor. I would like to see him involved in more matches over the next few months. It feels like a waste to keep him on the sidelines.
4) Brock Lesnar vs Matt Riddle Happening?
Matt Riddle cut a promo after a live event in Las Vegas this weekend. During the promo, Riddle said that he is going to be the guy who retires Brock Lesnar.
According to Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline, Riddle has been given permission by WWE to keep building up a potential match between him and Lesnar:
Matt Riddle did a post-match promo after the NXT Las Vegas house show main event last night and talked about how he was fired by Dana White (they were at The Pearl, a building UFC often runs), how some people don’t like him, and that he would be the guy who retires Brock Lesnar. From what I’m told, NXT has given him permission to follow up on the Lesnar stuff.
My Take:
- This seems to be a hint that the rumors of Matt Riddle having backstage heat in WWE were untrue. I wasn’t buying those rumors anyway.
