Here are some of the latest WWE rumors that are floating around.
5) The Original Plans For Lars Sullivan
Lars Sullivan made his return on the latest episode of Smackdown. He took out Jeff Hardy, Matt Riddle, and The Miz after their match.
According to a report from Sean Ross Sapp on Fightful Select (subscribe here), WWE originally had plans for Lars to face off against Brock Lesnar. Here is what Sapp wrote:
“Originally, WWE had major plans for Lars Sullivan, including a tentative match with Brock Lesnar upon his first call-up.”
My Take:
- It will be interesting to see if Lars vs Brock still ends up happening at some point. I don’t know if it is a match that I want to see but I am sure that some people would enjoy it.
4) WWE Star Almost Returned To NXT Last Year
Kevin Owens was recently interviewed by Bleacher Report. During this, Owens revealed that he was almost sent back to NXT last year but those plans got scrapped.
Here is what Owens said:
“Last year at some point, I was going back to NXT. It was all in motion and it was going to happen, and then it didn’t. To say that’s a thought that crossed my mind would be an understatement, but I would tell you right now that that’s not the case anymore. That’s just not where I’m at anymore. Now, I want to be on Raw or be on SmackDown and just fight like hell to create some memorable moments for everybody. That’s all I want at this point.”
My Take:
- Another Owens run in NXT would have been good. Personally, I want to see him most alongside Sami Zayn as a tag team. I love them together and I think that they would be great for WWE’s tag division.
