Rumor Roundup: WWE Superstar Switching Brands? Former AEW Wrestler Signing With NXT UK, More

3) New WWE Trademark

According to Heel By Nature, WWE recently filed to trademark the phrase “There’s Never A Bad Time To Have A Good Time”.

WWE has filed a new trademark for the phrase ‘There’s Never A Bad Time To Have A Good Time’.

This filing was for merchandise purposes.

My Take:

  • I am intrigued to see what/ who the hell this is going to be for. Seems really random.

2) Why Pat McAfee’s Impression Of Vince McMahon Was Scrapped From Throwback Smackdown

Pat McAfee did an impression of Vince McMahon, which was supposed to air on Throwback Smackdown. This didn’t end up airing on the show and WWE put it on Youtube instead.

According to Dave Meltzer in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Vince didn’t feel like McAfee looked or sounded like him. That is why it got cut. Here is what Meltzer wrote:

We were told the reason McMahon cut if from the show is that McAfee didn’t look or sound like a young McMahon and he thought it looked stupid, comical in the wrong way. He felt that instead of what he was looking for, a parody of himself, he felt it was a parody of a parody

My Take:

  • I don’t think it was bad but it also wasn’t the best Vince impression that I have ever seen. I think it was fine to get cut from the show and get posted online instead.
