5) Adam Cole Confirms WWE Name Change Rumors
Adam Cole was recently interviewed on Talk Is Jericho. During this, he confirmed the rumors that WWE originally wanted to change his name on the main roster.
Here is what Cole said:
“Apparently, there were a lot of ideas, but they were very vague on what exactly they wanted to do. When I first had the conversation, they had mentioned something about doing a name change or changing my look. That scared me a little bit because I spent nearly 14 years as Adam Cole. Our latest conversation, they were definitely more open to being me and being myself. They could tell I was not too thrilled (about a name change).”
My Take:
- I agree with Cole. This would have been dumb as fans know and love him as Adam Cole.
4) Backstage Note On Gran Metalik’s Release Request
Mike Johnson of PWinsider has confirmed the rumors that Gran Metalik has requested his release from WWE. He also provided some additional details about Metalik and Lince Dorado waiting at TV tapings to speak with WWE Management.
Here is what Johnson said:
Last night, PWInsider.com independently confirmed that Metalik that the report is correct and the 33 year old has indeed asked for a release. We are told that of late, both he and Lince Dorado have been seen at multiple TV tapings waiting to speak with WWE management due to unhappiness over how they are currentlybeing used. There is no word whether Dorado has also requested a release.
My Take:
- Not surprised as Lucha House Party hasn’t been booked well at all.
