3) New Names For NXT Superstars
According to Mike Johnson of PWInsider, WWE has changed the names of several new NXT Superstars.
Here is what Johnson wrote:
WWE has finalized new ring names for the following talents, PWInsider.com can confirm:
*Joseph Fatu is now Sefa Fatu.
*Jennifer Michell Cantu Iglesias is now Yulisa Leon.
*Jessica Woynilko is now Tiffany Stratton.
*Sanjana George is now Vish Kenya.
My Take:
- The one that sticks out is Sefa Fatu. This is the brother of Jimmy and Jey Uso. I am surprised that they didn’t give him the Uso last name.
2) Backstage Note On William Regal’s Son
According to Dave Meltzer in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, William Regal did not want his son, Bailey Matthews, to use the ‘Regal’ last name. His new name is Charlie Dempsey.
Here is what Meltzer wrote:
Bailey Matthews, who is the son of William Regal, is now going to use the name Charlie Dempsey. I believe in his case not using the famous Regal name isn’t as much a WWE decision as much as Regal himself wanting his son not to have the pressure on him of his father’s name. When he started, it was largely kept a secret that he was Regal’s son, unlike the case of most second generation wrestlers
My Take:
- This is pretty interesting and not something that we usually see. I am excited to follow his career and see how he does.
