It was first reported by the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Sasha Banks tried to quit WWE over the weekend. Sasha was reportedly frustrated with the decision to take the WWE Women’s Tag Team belts off of her and Bayley. She thought that they would get a long reign with the Titles to help establish the division.
Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful has corroborated the story and has provided some additional details on the situation.
— According to Sapp, he has not heard of any heat between Sasha, Bayley, and the IIconics.
— Sapp’s sources have compared it to the Revival situation that happened a few months ago. The tag team expressed their frustration backstage and were told to ride things out and that things would improve. It seems to be a similar situation with Sasha here.
— It was also noted that Bayley was very frustrated by the situation.
— Sapp says that from those he spoke to, they would be surprised if Sasha was granted her release from WWE.
— He also reports that there was some talk of Alexa Bliss gaining the upper hand on both Sasha and Bayley on RAW this week. Sasha didn’t end up appearing on the episode and Bayley was defeated by Bliss instead.
