The Best and Worst Of Smackdown Live (September 5, 2017)

Worst #2 – The Absences This Week

I understand that Smackdown Live is only a two-hour show and not everybody will make air. It felt like to me this week that there were more absences than usual on the show.

Some of the key things that didn’t happen:

– No Fashion Files segment

– No Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch (for the 2nd week in a row).

– No Shelton Benjamin & Chad Gable after their big win last week.

– No Rusev

– No Tamina and Lana after WWE started building up Tamina last week.

Thumbs down on time management this week.

BEST #2 – Shinsuke Nakamura vs Randy Orton

The main event of Smackdown Live this week was a match between Shinsuke Nakamura and Randy Orton. This had a lot on the line as the winner would go on to face Jinder Mahal for the WWE Championship at Hell in a Cell.

The match was won by Nakamura after hitting the Kinsasha. I thought the match was a lot of fun and a great effort from both guys. I would say that this was Nakamura’s best match so far as a member of the WWE main roster. He seemed to click really well with Orton in the ring.

The RKO reversal into an armbar was a thing of beauty:

This left me wanting to see a rematch on a bigger stage. Hopefully this isn’t the last time that we see them face off. Thumbs up to Orton and Nakamura this week.
