4) Eddie Guerrero vs Dean Malenko – ECW Hostile City Showdown ‘95 – ECW Television Title

When you see the name: ECW, you generally think about the legendary hardcore matches that the promotion produced. We sometimes forget about some of the great technical matches that also came from it. Eddie Guerrero had several excellent matches with Dean Malenko throughout their careers. None would top the awesome match that they put on at ECW’s Hostile City Showdown event in 1995.

The match was 2/3 falls for the ECW Television Title. It was also the final match before both Guerrero and Malenko would go off to WCW to be a part of the Cruiserweight division.

The crowd knew both were leaving and were hostile at the beginning of the match. The crowd chanted things like “You Sold Out” at both wrestlers. Eddie and Dean put on a technical masterpiece of a match, trading falls heading past the 20th minute of the match.

After 25 minutes, the match ended in a draw. The fans changed from hostile, to sad as they chanted ‘Please Don’t Go’ to both men.

An excellent example of wrestling psychology and storytelling between two amazing wrestlers. You can find the match on the WWE Network!
