Here are the WWE stars who spent the longest time in a singles Royal Rumble match.
7) Ric Flair – 1:00:02
— 1992 Royal Rumble Match.
The 1992 Royal Rumble match was special because the winner would win the vacant WWF World Heavyweight Championship. The belt had been stripped from Hulk Hogan a few weeks prior to the event.
Ric Flair entered the match as the number 3 entrant after The British Bulldog and Ted Dibiase. Flair would go on to compile 5 eliminations and last in the ring for just over an hour (1:00:02).
He would go on to win the match and the vacant WWF title by last eliminating Sid Justice, with some help from Hulk Hogan.
In his book: ‘To Be The Man’, Ric Flair claims that he didn’t know he was going to win the Royal Rumble and the title until he arrived at the building that day. He also felt they had him enter at number 3 in order to showcase his incredible endurance.
6) Chris Jericho – 1:00:13
— 2017 Royal Rumble Match
Chris Jericho entered the 2017 Royal Rumble match in the number 2 spot. Jericho lasted almost all the way to the end of the match, racking up two eliminations.
Jericho was involved in some funny moments during the match. He was eventually eliminated by Roman Reigns to end his time in the match.
Officially, he lasted for just over an hour (1:00:13), which is good enough for 6th all-time.
5) Triple H – 1:00:16
— 2006 Royal Rumble Match
Triple H had some tough luck at the 2006 Royal Rumble, as he was forced to enter the match first after drawing the unlucky number 1.
Triple H would eliminate 5 other superstars and would remain in the match for over an hour (1:00:16). Unfortunately, it wasn’t enough to win him the match as he was eliminated in the 28 spot by the eventual winner Rey Mysterio.
Don’t feel too bad for Triple H… He would end up getting a WWE title shot anyway. Triple H won the Road to WrestleMania tournament by last defeating Rob Van Dam and the Big Show.
Triple H would go on to face John Cena at Wrestlemania 22 for the WWE Championship in the main event. He lost that match via submission.
