A lot happened on Smackdown Live this week with plenty of implications for Wrestlemania 33. We are just over a month away from the big event and Smackdown did their part to build towards some potential matches that will be taking place in Orlando.

The biggest match that WWE built towards was: The Miz and Maryse vs John Cena and Nikki Bella. Maryse interfered in the match between Nikki Bella and Natalya, hitting Nikki with a pipe. This came after Nikki ran into Maryse backstage inadvertently. The Miz and John Cena also eliminated each other from the 10-man battle royal. It looks like this one is a lock.
Another match teased was Baron Corbin vs Dean Ambrose for the WWE Intercontinental Championship. After feuding for the past few weeks, Ambrose was able to eliminate Corbin from the battle royal. Corbin responded by hitting Ambrose with a ‘End of Days’ on the outside of the ring. It looks like these two are on a collision course for ‘Mania.
After the ending to Smackdown Live, Luke Harper and AJ Styles will face off next week to determine the number one contender. It is being rumored that Harper will face Bray Wyatt and Randy Orton for the title. Also, AJ is rumored to be facing Shane McMahon. We will have to wait another week to find out if these two matches will be confirmed.
The Usos continued to call-out American Alpha. It will be interesting to see if the Usos vs American Alpha happens at Wrestlemania 33.
Dolph Ziggler continued his feud with Apollo Crews and Kalisto in the battle royal. Guessing we see these three involved in the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal. Not enough space on the card for them to have a match.

With Naomi being stripped of the title and Alexa Bliss winning it back, the water has become murky regarding the Smackdown Women’s title. Too early to tell what will happen at Wrestlemania. Depends on Naomi’s injury and if she will be able to compete.
