10) Two WWE Legends Not Wrestling At Crown Jewel
There had been some rumors floating around about the Undertaker potentially wrestling at Crown Jewel. This is because The Deadman has been heavily used in the promotion of the event in Saudi Arabia. ‘Taker has also wrestled at all of the Saudi Arabia events so far.
According to Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, The Undertaker and Goldberg won’t be wrestling at the event. Here is what he wrote:
Even though Undertaker was used in the first announcement for the show and he’s been a key part of the previous shows, neither he nor Bill Goldberg at this point are slated to be on the show, likely with the idea it makes no sense to have other outside attractions when you already have Velasquez and Fury.
9) The Plans For Smackdown The Next Night
The WWE Crown Jewel event will be taking place on October 31st in Saudi Arabia. This is a Thursday, which has left many fans wondering about the status of Smackdown, which takes place the very next night.
According to Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the plan is to fly the Superstars who are in Saudi Arabia right to Smackdown. As a result, Smackdown will be a normal show that week:
They are chartering a flight with the SmackDown crew and production crew from Riyadh to Buffalo (where SmackDown will be held) so it’ll be a regular show with the full SmackDown crew
This definitely sucks for the male Smackdown roster. Talk about a rough commute.
8) New Technology Being Tested For The Event
It appears as if the event will feature some new technology. Some footage has come out that looks pretty cool.
