More Details On The Plans For The Mixed Match Challenge & Potential Teams

It was announced on Wednesday morning that WWE will be producing a new weekly show on Facebook live called: WWE Mixed Match Challenge. The show will air after Smackdown Live on Tuesday nights and will be a mixed tag team tournament featuring stars from both brands.

A new report from Ryan Satin of Pro Wrestling Sheet provides us with some more details on the show.

Satin says that Vince McMahon is pulling out “all the stops” to impress Facebook and other streaming services with this show. The idea for this is to open new doors for when WWE’s television contract expires with NBC in 2019.

The show will be running for a 12-week period. According to Satin, this will be a trial to see if revenue could potentially be comparable.  Also, the show will not affect or tie into the storylines for RAW and Smackdown Live unless it is something minor.

As for teams, Satin says that a Nia Jax-Enzo Amore pair seems to be a lock. Also, there has been talk of pairing up married couples like Jimmy Uso/Naomi and Lana/Rusev.

As noted prior, 205 Live will be pushed back to 10:30 PM (EST) during this 12 week period.
