WWE Releases Statement After 2-Year Old Child Killed After Taking “Wrestling Moves”

A story this week broke out of St. Louis that a 2-year old child was killed after taking “Wrestling Moves” from her Mother’s boyfriend. Both the mother and the boyfriend have been charged by the police. It is a pretty disturbing and sad story.

The “Wrestling Moves” that were performed on the 2-year old child was reported by Fox2now.com to be a ‘Batista Bomb’. [Note: It was also noted in the report that there were previous signs of abuse that happened prior to the incident]

As wrestling fans know, this was Batista’s finishing maneuver for so many years.  It is also a pretty recognizable move for casual wrestling fans.

WWE released a statement on the situation, saying:

“We are deeply saddened by this tragic death and hope that the guilty parties are brought to justice. There is no excuse or justification for the brutal and ultimately fatal beating of a 2-year-old child by a grown man. This is a clear case of criminal intent and a lack of parental supervision”

WWE always tells their viewers to not try the moves that they see at home. This is a prime and real example of the consequences. The fact that someone would do this to a young child is heartbreaking.

A very unfortunate situation that resulted in the loss of a child. If you want to get into more of the specifics of the story, you can check it out here.
