It turns out that there were two matches that were changed at the last-minute this week according to a report from PWInsider.com. Here are the details:
The first match that was reportedly changed was the Women’s Fatal 5-way match to determine Asuka’s challenger at TLC. The original plans were for it to only be a triple threat between: Emma, Alicia Fox and Nia Jax. This match was also going to be held until next week. WWE changed the plans and went with the fatal 5-way instead. This was because they wanted to promote Emma vs Asuka for an extra week. Nia was also completely removed from the match.
The second match that was reportedly changed was the Cruiserweight Title match. Original plans called for Neville to face Enzo in the lumberjack match. The plans were changed to Kalisto for two reasons. The first was that WWE booked themselves into a corner since Neville had lost any chance that he had at Enzo due to attacking him a few weeks ago while he held the ‘no contact’ contract. Also, WWE made the decision because RAW fell on October 9th, which happens to be the birthday of the late Eddie Guerrero. WWE had Kalisto cut a promo about how much Eddie inspired his career.
Interesting that WWE went the ways that they did with both matches.
