New Format For The 2017 WWE Draft?

There have been a lot of questions lately on if there will be a 2017 WWE Draft. In the previous brand splits, we have seen yearly drafts where WWE would shake-up the rosters in order to keep the feuds, storylines and matches fresh for both brands.

There are some rumors circulating that WWE could be adopting a new format for the 2017 edition of the WWE draft. Note: as always, take rumors with a grain of salt.

The idea will be that instead of completely re-drafting the rosters, there will be a way to have only a handful of guys and girls switch sides between RAW and Smackdown Live.

RAW and Smackdown would each get a few selections where they would get to pick a few (say 5 for argument sake) stars from the opposite brand to switch over to their roster. They could also select a surprise or two from NXT.

Whoever is holding a championship during the time of the draft will be ineligible to be selected, keeping the same titles on RAW and Smackdown.

This would be a way for WWE to change over some major names from brand-to-brand without completely doing a re-draft.

We posted several weeks ago about Vince McMahon wanting AJ Styles on RAW and this could be a way that this would happen. We also have heard Vince McMahon say that Roman Reigns joining the Smackdown roster would be considered a big deal.

Let us know what you would think of this format in the comment section below. Would you prefer this to a complete re-draft?
