With NXT Takeover: WarGames only a few days away, it is time to take a look at some of the NXT talent who could be called up to the WWE main roster soon. Especially interesting since WWE released a few roster members a few weeks ago.
Here are some of the names who are rumored to make the jump soon.
So who is next?
The biggest rumor going around is that Hideo Itami is expected to join WWE’s Cruiserweight division and 205 Live very soon. Seems like it could happen within the next few weeks.
Dave Meltzer in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter (subscribe here), mentions that there were plans in place back in April for Andrade ‘Cien’ Almas to get called up to the WWE main roster. This hasn’t happened yet and Almas has rebooted his character over the past few months. He will be facing Drew McIntyre for the NXT Title at Takeover: WarGames.
Meltzer also says that the Authors of Pain were once on the top of the list of names to be called up soon. They will be involved in the WarGames match at Takeover.
Hideo seems like a lock and will be the first one called up. Both Almas and the Authors of Pain could get called up after Takeover but we will have to wait and see.
