2) Women’s Wrestling

Another reason why you should be excited for Wrestlemania 33 is to celebrate how far Women’s Wrestling has come over the past year.

At Wrestlemania 32, WWE abolished the term ‘diva’ and revealed the new Women’s Championship belt. Fast forward a year later and WWE has two Women’s matches on the card at the event for the RAW and Smackdown Women’s Championships.

Pair that with Nikki Bella and Maryse competing in a mixed tag team match (with John Cena and the Miz respectively),  that makes 3 prominent matches involving female talent.

If you have been a fan for the past several years, you know that this was not always the case for the women of WWE. Sometimes we saw one match involving female talent, sometimes they were scrapped from the card entirely. It is great to see how far WWE has come over the past year.

Hopefully we are looking back at this years Wrestlemania next year and saying how far we have come again!

Why should you be excited? For all the talented women on the roster that have earned the opportunity to shine. You might not like the matches that are booked but we should celebrate Women’s Wrestling. Plenty of ladies will be given the chance to shine with the world watching.
