7) Matt Hardy

Matt Hardy has made a lot of headlines in 2016 with his innovative character in TNA: Broken Matt. This is a much different Matt Hardy than WWE fans are used to.

Some would argue that 2016 has been the best year of Matt Hardy’s career, which is impressive considering he had some incredible years with the WWE.

There was some heavy speculation a couple of months ago, that Matt could be headed to WWE once his deal with TNA expires.

The biggest question with Matt returning is how much the Broken Matt character would work under Vince McMahon. It currently is working due to his creative freedom in TNA.

Matt himself expressed worries about what Vince McMahon would do with him. From an interview with SI.com:

“I don’t know if I trust that Meekmahan, or if he’ll try to stifle my broken brilliance. I’m able to live in my broken universe here at Impact Wrestling to the fullest extent, and Impact Wrestling needs me as their savior, so I’ll do everything I can to help them grow”

If he doesn’t return as Broken Matt, I think many fans would LOVE to see him back at his old persona. Maybe even team with his brother Jeff in WWE again for one last run? However he comes back, WWE fans would welcome him with open arms.

2017 might be the year to do it with the momentum that he currently has!

  1. I agree with the ones chosen, I think what WWE needs to do those in NXT is actually have room to put them in as they barely able to provide screen-time for most of them on SD and RAW, perhaps move some of the wrestlers they are not currently using?
