5 Booking Decisions That Would Have Made WWE Fastlane Much Better

2. No Filler Matches

There was a point during the PPV where I felt like it was dragging on and on, and that was due to the filler matches that were put on. One of the things that was frustrating was the fact that there was TWO filler matches ONE HOUR into the show, that is an issue if you’re having to use up filler matches an hour into the pay-per-view.

Not only that, the matches consisted of Rusev vs Big Show and Cesaro vs Jinder Mahal……what? Cesaro vs Jinder Mahal mostly favored Mahal and near the end of the match Cesaro did some work at the end.

Cesaro definitely deserved better out of this deal, as he’s worked day in and day out to be where he is and then they throw him to a former member of the 3MB. It pains me to say that because I actually liked 3MB, but Jinder Mahal is a glorified jobber and seemed like he returned just to fill roster space.

I was excited to see Big Show wrestle at Fastlane, because this is an improved version of himself. However, that excitement quickly died down as Big Show dominated the match, with Rusev utilizing moves that made me think he would actually go over. I’m sorry, but 3 chokeslams and 1 KO punch seemed a bit excessive to beat Rusev, even for Big Show. With Big Show’s WrestleMania opponent still in question, I hope they didn’t waste that win.

Not to mention these filler matches made it painfully obvious that Owens vs Goldberg was going to end quickly. Why not just end the PPV 20 minutes early instead of giving us pointless filler?

  1. I most definitely agree that Braun Strowman should not have been pinned. If Undertaker had caused a distraction or even gotten Roman Reigns disqualified, not only would Strowman have remained undefeated but Taker would have one-upped Roman for eliminating him at the Rumble. It would have added fuel to their feud and upcoming Wrestlemania match. All bases would have been covered.

  2. So you want Owens to win the US Title, but also retain the Universal? Three of your 5 arguments you clearly are grabbing at straws
