5 (Male) Stars That Will Lead NXT Into The “New Era”

3.) Roderick Strong

Roderick Strong is arguably one of the greatest babyfaces in NXT right now. The way he has been built up with the mini-documentary makes him an instant fan favorite, someone a lot of people can relate to, and it showed a lot of raw emotion.

His match with Hideo Itami to determine the #1 Contender for Bobby Roode’s NXT Championship showed how great he can be in the ring, even great feels like an underwhelming word to use. He has proven why he was known as “Mr. Ring of Honor,” and I believe he will be donning the new moniker “Mr. NXT.” Not only that, he has taken the spot of Finn Balor in the sense of being a huge fan favorite and babyface within NXT.

Strong may be in the NXT title picture soon whether Hideo Itami wins the title at NXT TakeOver: Chicago or not, but I also feel that he may be pushed out of the title picture. They don’t need him to be champion in order for him to be a real fan favorite, however, he could help put even more prestige into the title. As someone once said, “The title doesn’t make the man, the man makes the title.”

2.) Aleister Black

Anyone that has watched the wrestler formerly known as Tommy End knows that he is a very great wrestler in the ring, and there is a reason why he is in NXT. People that have watched Aleister Black in the indies know that he is a great in-ring talent, and he is doing this new gimmick very well.

He allows his actions to be his words, he is very methodical in the ring, and the mind games are pretty unreal. I had seen a tweet that he could be the next Undertaker in the sense of the mystique that he carries, which I see and have drawn parallels to. If you haven’t seen NXT, I would say that Aleister Black should be a reason that you start watching.

Black is a dominant wrestler, finishing his opponents off in a fast fashion. The way he has been booked as of late, it reminds me of Baron Corbin’s run in NXT where he was decimating opponents left and right. Grant it, that run gradually slowed down, which we may see with Aleister Black. For the time being, it may become a focal point whenever he is featured on NXT. We may even find him in the NXT title hunt very soon….
