5 Reasons Why WWE Would Book John Cena vs Roman Reigns at WrestleMania

4.) Both Cena and Reigns Draw

This comment probably has everybody that is not a fan of either wrestler screaming at their screens and I probably will have some heat for this, but both superstars can draw.

Before I get into why, let me point out one thing: a series of the same matches at pay-per-view events, RAWs and SmackDowns and at house shows will get stale and cause people to walk out. That has nothing to do with the wrestlers, it all comes down to creative.

John Cena has been around since 2002, and upon his debut, it seemed like a bit of an underdog at first. However, he had this aggression and could really get going when the time came. Over this time frame, John Cena has helped sell out arenas and has put butts in those seats. Before the current brand split occurred, there was a time where John Cena went to go film the first season of the TV series “American Grit.”

Over the time of his absence, it appeared that the WWE could not stick with storylines and they seemed all over the place. Not only that, fans did not appear invested into the product and the viewership ratings were down. Let’s not forget the crowd reaction that Cena gets. Fans go absolutely crazy whenever John Cena is in the ring, whether they boo him or cheer him, he is still getting quite the reaction from fans. People pay to see what he is going to do next.

Roman Reigns is a former member of the Shield. Ever since the Shield split up a few years ago, all three members have been left to fend for themselves and to develop as singles competitors. Many people, for the past two years, have said that Roman Reigns isn’t ready and that he doesn’t have the skill set. Some people even call him Cena 2.0, take that in whichever way you desire. Now, this is going to sound crazy, but I believe people pay to see Roman Reigns lose and boo him because it is the fun thing to do in pop culture. I’ll be honest, when I went to RAW back in July, I wanted to boo Reigns except he was suspended for violating the Wellness Policy. You also have the people that are fans of his that pay to see him win, cheer him, and see if he proves his haters wrong. It’s smart when you think of it.
