Luke Harper made a surprise return at the Clash of Champions PPV. This came during the match between Roman Reigns and Erick Rowan. Harper ended up helping Rowan pick up the win.
Mike Johnson of PWinsider has provided a few backstage notes about Harper’s return.
Here is what Johnson wrote:
Harper was not listed on the format sheet for the show and was hidden until just before the Reigns vs. Rowan bout.
No one saw him backstage until just before his return.
It was also noted by Johnson that Harper was brought back in July by WWE for a meeting. This was a few months after Harper had publically requested his release from the company, a request that was denied.
Harper’s last match came back in April. Even though he met with the company in July, he still wasn’t appearing at live events or being used. The company has finally decided to do something with him.
